Planning, Sports ministers discuss operation of Olympic Games City

Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala el-Saeed and Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi have discussed the operational stand of Egypt International City for Olympic Games, currently under construction in the New Administrative Capital.

El-Saeed praised the efforts made to finish the construction Olympic Games City in the New Administrative Capital, which is one of the distinguished sporting edifices established by the Egyptian state.

They also discussed the executive position of Egypt Olympic Games till operation.

The planning minister said such a city represents an addition to the sports scene and sports facilities in Egypt, and is the largest sporting edifice in the Middle East region.

For his part, Sobhi said the Olympic Games City is one of the distinguished sporting edifices established by the Egyptian state in recent times, and represents a great addition to the sports facilities that characterize Egypt.

The Olympic Games City has new generation of smart sports facilities, located on an area of 468 acres, with a stadium that can accommodate 92 thousand spectators, two covered halls with a total capacity of 23 thousand spectators each, a tennis and swimming halls complex, and the archery and equestrian competitions scenes.

Sobhi pointed out that the city's components are qualified to host the African Games and the Olympic Games in the future copies, in continuation of Egypt hosting international events and championships.

The minister explained that Egypt was witnessing giant development projects according to a wise vision of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi within Egypt's Vision 2030.
