Tour D’Afrique 2024 kickstarts at Giza Pyramids, as Egypt Marathon opens in Luxor

The Tour D’Afrique 2024 was launched Friday 12/01/2024 in front of the Giza Pyramids, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion.

Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said the trip within Egyptian territory takes approximately 13 days, during which participants would pass through a number of archaeological and tourist sites in the governorates of Cairo, Giza, Suez, the Red Sea, Qena, Luxor, and Aswan until the Sudanese border crossing through the Wadi Halfa port.

About 50 cyclists from several countries are participating in this year’s version including Egypt, The USA, Canada, Germany, France, and Italy.

Meanwhile, the 31st session of the Egyptian Marathon kicked off today from the city of Luxor, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion.

More than 100 competitors of several European and Arab nationalities are participating.

The marathon started in front of the Temple of Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahri, then to the Valley of the Kings, passing through the Temple of Medinet Habu and the Colossi of Memnon, then returning to the Temple of Hatshepsut.
