Al-Sobky Discusses with the Emirati Company Eco Medical the Promotion of Medical Tourism in South Sinai

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance and Decent Life projects at the Ministry of Health and Population, along with Dr. Magdy Riad Fayek, CEO of the Emirati company Eco Medical, met with Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, to discuss the promotion of medical tourism and investments in South Sinai.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky pointed out the importance of this meeting, adding that we aim to develop a joint action plan to implement health initiatives and projects in South Sinai to enhance health care for citizens and international patients and sustainable health development in the governorate.

He stressed that the implementation of the comprehensive insurance system has strengthened the position of South Sinai as an attractive destination for major investments in health care and related industries and the introduction of medical tourism, noting that medical tourism is an important source of income.

For his part, Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, confirmed that the governorate has a unique geographical nature and tourist attractions that qualify it to become the capital of medical tourism in Egypt.

Dr. Magdy Riad Fayek, CEO of the Emirati company Eco Medical, confirmed his cooperation to promote medical tourism in South Sinai and enhance health investments in the governorate, and continued: We are proud of the fruitful cooperation with Egypt in the health care sector and we look forward to further development and joint success during the coming period.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Governor of South Sinai and the Chairman of the Health Care Authority invited the CEO of the Emirati company Eco Medical to attend the International Health Tourism Conference, scheduled to be held under the patronage of His Excellency Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, in early next March in the New Administrative Capital.
