Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tareq El Molla said the petrochemical industry still has opportunities that can add to the fields of economy, investment and industry in Egypt, because of its competitive advantages, and clear and strong support from the Egyptian state.

The Minister explained, while monitoring the executive position of the new petrochemical projects, that the investment map for these projects took into account the addition of new rings and green and environmentally friendly products that would increase the total production, which reached more than 4.3 million tons during the last fiscal year.

Within the framework of updating the national plan for the petrochemical industry until the year 2040, in accordance with the market’s requirements and needs for petrochemical products, exporting the surplus, and supporting the state’s direction towards building new economic entities that increase the contribution to achieving the sustainable development goals of the Egyptian state, two projects for the silicon and its derivatives complex and the soda ash production project were developed.

It will be implemented on the land of the Egyptian Petrochemical Holding Company in the industrial zone in New Alamein City.
