Egypt and Venezuela

The relations between Egypt and Venezuela are deep and rich and have spanned over 60 years since the year 1950.

Political Relations
Both countries are members in the Non Aligned Movement and share common values and common views on different regional and international issues of common concern. Venezuela is a key player in the Latin American region and an active member in many of the regional forums. Egypt as well, has always been a key player within the Middle East and Africa and one of the founder countries of the Arab League. 

Mutual Visits

In February 2013: Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affair for Asia and Middle East visited Egypt to participate in the extraordinary meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Non-Aligned movement on Palestine.

In May 2012: Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Egypt to participate in the Ministerial meeting of the Coordinating  Bureau of the Non-Aligned Movement in Sharm El Sheikh.

In July 2011: Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Energy visited Egypt to participate in the Ministerial meeting of Oil Exporting Countries Forum.

In May 2010: Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa visited Egypt to participate in the first meeting of the Egyptian Venezuelan Join committee.

In July 2009: Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa visited Egypt to participate in the non-aligned movement summit in Sharm El Sheikh.

In March 2009: Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia and Middle East visited Egypt to participate in the Ministerial conference for Latin American and Arab countries.

In March 2009: Egyptian Minister of International Cooperation visited Venezuela and headed the Egyptian delegation in the second Summit for Africa / South America.

In November 2007: Egyptian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Americas visited Venezuela.

In November 2005: Egyptian First undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture visited Venezuela.

In 2005: Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa visited Egypt.

In January 2005: Egyptian Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Americas visited Caracas.

One of the most important fields of bilateral cooperation is Gas. The Egyptian “Engineering for the Petroleum & Process Industries (ENPPI) Company is working in Venezuela since 2006 in contact with PDVSA-GAS and implemented several successful projects.
