Sisi condoles with Italian PM over death of Italian national

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi phoned on 4/2/2016 Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to offer condolences over the death of an Italian young man in Cairo.During the phone call, president Sisi offered condolences to the family and friends of the victim.

The body of 28-year-old Giulio Regeni, a graduate student at Britain's Cambridge University, was found in Cairo on Wednesday.President Sisi said he urged the Interior Ministry and Prosecution to unveil the causes of the incident.

Renzi extended thanks to president Sisi for his sincere condolences, praising the spirit of cooperation shown by the Egyptian side.Such stances reflect the depth of relations binding both countries and both peoples, said Renzi.

Both leaders reviewed the outcome of meetings held between the Egyptian and Italian sides during a recent visit to Egypt by members of an Italian business delegation.

They underlined the importance of current cooperation in fighting terrorism and extremism. They also underscored the importance of intensifying efforts to ensure the stability and security of the Middle East, especially in Libya.
