Environment Minister Khaled Fahmy on Friday 15/04/2016 said that cooperation between Egypt and other African countries is the main element of success to satisfy aspirations of the African continent.
Fahmy made the remarks during the sixth special session of the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN), kicked off on Friday. He added that the conference is not tackling environment issues only, but also economic ones.
The African continent faces great challenges including the quest for rapid growth and providing job opportunities for young people, the minister said.
The conference, which groups 54 countries, is working to provide leadership at the African level to negotiate over global and regional environmental issues related to implementing international conventions in the areas of biodiversity, desertification and climate change.
