Cairo celebrates its national day on 6th July  of each year, which coincides with the day when the leader Jawhar al-Siqilli laid the foundation stone in 969 AD to build the new capital of the Fatimid state by order of the Fatimid Caliph al-Muizz Lidin Allah al-Fatimi and called it al-Mansuriya, which’s name turns to “Cairo” afterwards.

Alexandria National Day

Alexandria National Day falls on 26^th July of each year , on the occasion of King Farouk’s departure from Egypt in 1952 (as the King left Alexandria from Ras El-Tin port on the royal yacht “Al-Mahrousa” and headed to Italy on July 26, 1952).

Aswan National Day

Aswan celebrates its National Day on 15^th January of each year, in line with the anniversary of the High Dam opening on 15^th January 1971 AD, and the celebration of the birthday of the late leader Gamal Abdel Nasser on 15^th January 1918, when the late President Mohamed Anwar Sadat inaugurated the High Dam and made that day a national holiday for Aswan. .

Assiut National Day

Assiut celebrates its National Day on 18^th April of each year as an expression of loyalty and appreciation to the people of the village of Bani Uday who stood against the French under the leadership of Sheikh Hassan Al-Khatib.

More than three thousand people gathered in the face of the French General Dafoe, and the battle ended with the inability of the French to seize the village, as a result they set fire to the village's houses, and the town became a flame of fire, and in this way, the French succeeded in entering the village.

Ismailia National Day

Ismailia Governorate celebrates its National Day on 16^th October of each year, when demonstrations erupted in Ismailia to demand the departure of the British occupation, which made the struggle of Ismaili citizens against the British occupation and its heroism, after the annulment of the 1936 treaty.

This was followed by the heroism of the police forces on January 25, 1952, which all marked the first spark for the glorious July Revolution of 1952.

Luxor National Day

 Luxor Governorate celebrates its National Day every year on 4^th of November, which coincides with the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun, one of the kings of the 18th Pharaonic Dynasty, in 1922 AD.

Red Sea National Day

The Red Sea Governorate celebrates on 22^nd January of each year, its National Day, coinciding with the Battle of Shadwan.

On the same date in 1970, Shadwan Island witnessed a popular and historical epic during the War of Attrition.

Giza National Day

Giza Governorate celebrates its National Day on 31^st March of each year, in recognition of the role played by the people of “Al Shobak” village in Giza Governorate, during the 1919 revolution, against the British occupation in defense of their lands.

Dakahlia National Day

Dakahlia Governorate celebrates its National Day on 8^th February of each year, as it coincides with the anniversary of the victory of the people of Mansoura, and a number of the people of the cities and villages of the governorate over the French campaign, in 1250, in separate battles, which resulted in the capture of King Louis IX of France in the house of Ibn Luqman.

Menoufia National Day

Al-Mufiya celebrates its National Day on 13rd June of each year, which coincides with the anniversary of the Denshway massacre, to commemorate the courage of the people of Denshway Village, this day was chosen every year as a national holiday.

Minya National Day

Minya Governorate celebrates its National Day on 18^th March of each year, in memory of the revolution of the Minya people against the British Occupation who arrested Saad Zaghloul and his colleague Ali Shaarawy and Abdel Aziz Fahmy.

By burning a train coming from the south carrying the English prison inspector "Bob", they burned the train and those in it, and this day became a national holiday for Minya.

Qalyubia National Day

Qalyubia Governorate celebrates its National Day on 30^th August of each year, which coincides with the opening of Qanatir al-Khairiya in 1868, which covers an area of about 500 acres in the city.

Beni Suef National Day

Beni Suef Governorate celebrates its National Day on 15^th March of each year, which coincides with the day the 1919 revolution starts against the British occupation from Beni Suef and the heroism of the people of the province against the occupation.

Port Said National Day 

Port Said Governorate celebrates its National Day on 23^rd December of each year, the date on which the last soldier was evacuated and left the city after the Tripartite Aggression inflicted the heaviest human and material losses.

South Sinai National Day

South Sinai Governorate celebrates its National Day on 19^th March of each year, which coincides with the day the Egyptian flag was raised on Taba, which was the last part of Egyptian land recovered from the Israeli occupier. 

North Sinai National Day

North Sinai Governorate celebrates its National Day on 25^th April of each year, which coincides with the anniversary of the liberation of Sinai from the Israeli occupation in 1982.

 Damietta National Day

Damietta Governorate celebrates its National Day on 8^th of May every year, which is the memory of the sacrifices of Damietta sons in its response to the Crusader invasion, its resistance to the Crusader forces and its defeat in 1250 AD. 

Sohag National Day

Sohag governorate celebrates its National Day on 10^th of April of each year, where the people of Sohag presented a unique example of sacrifice and struggle when they confronted the “French campaign” that attacked the villages and cities of the governorate in 1799 AD. 

Qena National Day

On 3^rd of March each year, Qena Governorate celebrates its National Day, which coincides the national epic of the victory of Qena people, over the French campaign and its heavy losses in the Nile River, within the Battle of “Al Barod” in 1799. It was one of the fiercest and most difficult battles fought by the French campaign. With their traditional weapons, the Egyptians were able to kill more than 500 French soldiers and to destroy the French fleet, headed by Napoleon’s famous "Italia" ship. 

 Marsa Matrouh National Day

Marsa Matrouh Governorate celebrates its National Day on 15^th December of each year, which coincides with the anniversary of Wadi Majid Battle in 1915 AD, in which the people of Matrouh resisted the British occupation in the Western Desert and defeated them. 

Gharbia National Day

Gharbia Governorate celebrates on 7^th October, each year its National Day, which coincides with the memory of the steadfastness of the sons of Gharbia in resisting the remnants of the French campaign, which began in 1798, when the people of Tanta refrained from paying a tax or a fine imposed on them during the era of the French occupation. The French battalion arrived towards Tanta on October 7, 1798. Its commander assigned its governor, Salim al-Shurbaji, to take four of the city’s chiefs as hostages till everything is settled down. A great battle took place between the two parties that lasted for several hours, and despite the clear disparity in the strength of arms between the two parties, General Le Vivre, the French commander, saw that the number of his soldiers could not withstand in front of the poor crowds, and accordingly he freed the hostages.

Kafr El-Sheikh National Day

Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate celebrates its National Day, on 4^th of November each year, in commemoration of the victory of the Burullus naval battle over the Triple Aggression on November 4, 1956 AD.

Suez National Day

Suez Governorate celebrates on 24^th of October each year its National Day, which coincides with the anniversary of the resistance of the popular resistance in the governorate, backed by the army and police forces for the Israeli forces in the October 1973 war, when they tried to enter the city and occupy it. 

Sharkia National Day

Sharkia Governorate celebrates its National Day on September 9 of each year, which coincides with the commemoration of the leader Ahmed Orabi stand, in front of Khedive Tawfiq in Abdeen Square in 1881, calling for freedom and people’s rights. 

Al Wadi Al Gaded National Day

The people of the New Valley Governorate celebrate on 3^rd of October each year its National Day, which is marks  the arrival of the first convoy of reconstruction and reclamation in the New Valley in 1959, and began to establish new urban communities on both sides of the roads linking the oases of the province.

Fayoum National Day

Fayoum Governorate celebrates its National Day on March 15 of each year, in commemoration of the stand of the people of Fayoum Governorate  against the British occupation during the 1919 revolution led by Hamad Pasha.

The governorate also celebrates on the same day, the anniversary of the completion of the Wadi El-Rayan project to solve the drainage problem in Qarun Lake, and link the two lakes of Wadi El-Rayan.

Beheira National Day

The governorate celebrates its National Day on September 19 of each year, which embodies the memory of one of the most important days of the national struggle against the occupier, as the people of Rashid defeated the “English Fraser campaign” in 1807, through which Britain wanted to occupy Egypt.
