In January 2010: The second session of the Egyptian - Georgian Joint Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Committee was held, (the first session was held in October 2002) on the sidelines of the Georgian Prime Minister's visit to Cairo. Minister of State for International Cooperation headed the Egyptian side, whereas Minister of Economic Development headed the Georgian side. A forum for Egyptian and Georgian businessmen was also held on the sidelines of the visit.

On 25/5/2010: The Foreign Minister visited Georgia within the framework of a tour in the South Caucasus Region. The visit tackled the possibilities of strengthening Egypt's relations with countries in the region at all levels, especially trade and economic relations. The minister met as well with the Georgian President, Foreign Minister and Speaker of the Parliament.
