Egypt is currently the largest foreign investor in Georgia, after a number of private sector companies and Egyptian investors, in agreement with the Georgian government, had established an industrial free zone in Kutaisi City. The first Egyptian companies have already started production.
Contractual Framework
During the Second Round of the Egyptian-Georgian Joint Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation Committee, held in January 2010, four Documents were signed:
- Protocol of the Second Round of Egyptian /Georgian Joint Committee
- Executive Programme for Cooperation in Tourism
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Port of Alexandria and Port of Poti.
- Cooperation Agreement between Chambers of Commerce and Industry in both countries.
