The geographic distance between the two countries, together with the fact that Nepal is a landlocked country, and the unavailability of direct flights, impede the enhancement of bilateral trade exchange. The volume of bilateral trade exchange has recently reached USD 2.8 – 3.8 million, and the trade balance is in favor of Egypt. The Egyptian exports to Nepal mainly include marble, carpets, calcium carbonates, canned foods, fertilizers, and medicines. On the other hand, some Egyptian companies import lentils from Nepal.

• A Memorandum of Understanding on establishing a bilateral political consultation mechanism between the Foreign Ministries was signed on July 16th, 2007.
• Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed on July 16th, 2007.
