On 23/11/2015, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri visted South Korea and met head of the South Korean National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee Na Kyung-won. The meeting took up means of boosting Egyptian-South Korean relations.

On 23/11/2014, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received South Korean Prime Minister Jung Hong-won at the presidency. The South Korean official conveyed greetings from his president to Sisi, saying he hopes Sisi will accept an invitation to visit South Korea next year on the occasion marking the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On 23/11/2014, former Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab had talks with his visiting South Korean counterpart Jung Hong-won. South Korea is keen to attend the economic conference Egypt is holding in March, Jung said during the meeting with Mahlab.

On 17/12/2013, Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi held talks with his South Korean counterpart Yun Byung on means of bolstering bilateral relations in all fields. Some regional and international issues were also discussed during the meeting. Fahmi attended the signing ceremony of an agreement to establish a petrochemical complex in Ain Sukhna at $4.8 billion cost. The complex is expected to provide 50,000 job opportunities. The complex will be carried out by international consortium led by the Korean Company "SK", and will produce Ethylene and Polythene. Fahmi emphasized the importance of the role played by the Korean Export Bank in supporting the Korean investments in Egypt.
