Egypt and Nigeria enjoy a deep cultural affinity that brought the two countries together since Nigeria's independence. Currently there are hundreds of Nigerian students enrolled in Faculties of Medicine and in many Egyptian universities, in addition to 47 Nigerian students capitalizing on scholarships offered by the Egyptian government, as well as training in the fields of mass media, and agriculture.
The Embassy in cooperation with Egyptian companies present in Nigeria, as well as the ministries of culture in both countries, organized 2 cultural weeks in 2008 and 2009 with the participation of Egyptian cultural troupes, that included an Egyptian food festival and an art contest.
