The Egyptian sports teams won many medals in the different sports championships

1. Football

Al-Ahly team won the CAF Champions League Cup.

 2. Judo

Junior judo team won the first place in the Arab Championship competitions, and won 7 gold medals in addition to 6 silver medals .

The Egyptian Judo players won the African title and the first place of the African Judo Championship with 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals .

3. Karate

The Egyptian team won the first place in the Mediterranean Championship and won 22 medals, including 8 gold, 6 silver and 8 bronze .

The Egyptian team won the second position in the 22nd World Senior Karate Championship which was held in Bremen, German and won 6 medals, including 3 gold medals, 2 silver medals and 1 bronze medal after a strong competition with Japan and France.

The Egyptian team won the first place in the World Traditional Karate Championship hosted by Egypt, in which 40 countries participated and the Egyptian team won 24 medals, including 8 gold, 2 silver and 14 bronze.

4. Gymnastics

The Egyptian team won five medals in Gymnastics in the Mediterranean Games, including a gold medal, a silver medal, and 3 bronze medals.

The Egyptian gymnastics team won 10 medals at the African gymnastics championship, including 4 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals .

 

5. Cycling Race

Egypt won a silver medal in the junior women's race at the African Cycling Championship in 2014.

6. Fencing

Egypt won the title of the 2014 African Fencing Championship and won 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 8 bronze medals.

7.  Basketball

-     The junior women's national volleyball team won the African Nations Volleyball Championship held in Algeria .

8. Athletics

-  Egypt won a bronze medal in athletics at the youth Olympics held in Nanjing city, China .

-  Egypt won three silver medals in the African Athletics Championship held in Morocco.

-Egypt won 11 medals, including 9 gold and 3 silver medals, in the Afro-Asian Athletics Championship held in the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan in November.

9.  Swimming

The national swimming team won the first place in the Arab championship for long distance swimming held in Sharm El-Sheikh in October 2014 .

The Egyptian frogman Ahmed Gamal has recently broken the world record for the deepest scuba dive after he dove down 1,091 feet (332.35 meters) into the Red Sea using diving tanks in only 12 minutes .

The Egyptian swimmer Ahmed Nassef is a paralympic champion made a historic achievement by crossing the British Channel with a time of 18 hours and 50 minutes .

The Egyptian athletes participating in the African Youth Games in Botswana won 22 medals, including 10 gold medals, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals.

10.    Handball

The African Handball Federation announced that Egypt shall host the 22nd African Nations Cup of Handball in 2016. It is worth mentioning that Egypt has organized this championship four times before, specifically in 1983, 1991, 2004, and 2010.

11. Taekwondo

The Egyptian team won six medals in the African Taekwondo Championship held in Tunisia, including 3 gold and 3 silver medals.

12. Table Tennis

Egypt won the African Cup of table tennis held in Lagos, Nigeria .

13. Modern Pentathlon

Egypt won the first place in Modern Pentathlon World Championships held in Czech Republic.

14.  Volleyball

Egypt Volleyball National team claimed the Arab Championship title in the competition held in Kuwait .

The Egyptian women's national volleyball team won the cup at the Women's U23 African Nations Championship held in Algeria and is qualified for the World Cup 2015 .

15. Weightlifting

The national weightlifting team player Rajab Abdul Hai won a gold medal in the snatch lift and a silver in the clean and jerk lift at the President's Cup in Russia .

Mohamed Shosha won a bronze medal in the weightlifting men's 85kg competition at the Youth Olympics, which was held in Nanjing, China. And the weighlifter Sarah Samir a gold medal in the women's 63kg weightlifting category .

Fatma Omar, four-time Paralympic champion, stormed to gold at the 2014 IPC Powerlifting World Championships in Dubai in the women's -61kg .

 The Egyptian rowing team won a bronze medal at the African Youth Games in Botswana .

16. Wrestling

Ahmed Hassan, the national wrestling team player won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Nanjninj, China .

Omar Khaled Shehata, Egypt's junior national wrestling teamplayer won a bronze medal at the world championship in Slovakia in the -69 kg category .

Egypt All Africa Games 2015

Egypt dominated the 2015 All-Africa Games winning a staggering 217 medals in many
different sports. 85 of those were gold, 64 silver and 68 bronze medals in
Egypt’s name.


Squash

Raneem El Welily ended Malaysian Nicole David’s 9-year reign on top of the ranking table
to become the first ever Egyptian woman to be ranked no.1 in squash.

Egyptian Special Olympics

Egyptian athletes brought home 50 medals from the Special Olympics that were held in Los
Angeles, USA. The Egyptian delegation won 13 gold, 20 silver and 16 bronze medals.
