Cairo ICT 2009 will be held on 8 - 11 February 2009, at the Cairo International Conference Center (CICC) under the slogan “Know Before You Go”, in an attempt to reinforce the idea of information technology and communication being the key element in decision-making. More than 350 local, regional and international companies participate in this exhibition.
Cairo ICT 2009 aims to offer technology solutions in many sectors such as communications, information technology, satellites and computers, in addition to, business opportunities with many Arab and international companies.
Malaysia has been chosen to be the guest of honor at Cairo ICT 2009 for enjoying experience in ICT sector. In the meantime, it is the first time in the history of the ICT that a high-level delegation from Taiwan participate in it, to get acquainted with the opportunities in the local market and create closer ties between the Egyptian companies and their peers in Taiwanese, in addition to the visit of the Algerian and Moroccan delegations.
Among the most prominent themes on the focus of Cairo ICT 2009 are real estate development by using information technology, transport as well as health, education and human resources sectors and the new generation of the Internet and other vital issues such as freedom and censorship on the Internet, the phenomenon of Facebook and the subject of “Green ICT” , in addition to the issue of safety of children while using information technology, communication and the Internet, as a vital topic, which is an Egyptian initiative to protect the values of young people in their homes. Cairo ICT 2009 also includes a partition concerning the digital cinema and a high clarity technology.
Cairo ICT 2009 will represent for the first time, a pavilion called "the future life," which relies on wireless communication technology for the time being, and not in the future, as well as the “Financial Lounge” with the participation of a group of banks, the Egyptian Stock Exchange and brokerage companies. There will be also an”Open Forum”, which introduces for the first time, a new idea depending on the availability of opportunities for global and local companies to present their latest technology with a possible practical work environment, giving an opportunity to the largest number of public to get acquainted with the "new technology" through a quick and light presentations that do not depend on the traditional practical nature.
The conference to be held together with Cairo ICT 2009 will involve many foreign speakers such as Larry Gordon, who is specialized in the media field, he also own a distinct site on the internet for the education of dealing with digital video material, and Gary Adkwik who is specialized in the fields of graphics and animation.
Ministry of Communications will participate in the exhibition; its pavilion will include various institutions such as National Telecom Regulatory Authority, Telecom Egypt, Egypt Post and the Information Technology Industry Development Company, TE Data in addition to other Ministries, which represents about 17% of the total exhibition participation.
