Roman Temple or Deir el-Shelwit Temple: It is an ancient Egyptian temple to Isis from the Greco-Roman period. It is located at south of Memnon mountain. It stands on the West bank of the Nile at Luxor, 4 km south of Medinet Habu.  The temple was dedicated to the worship of Isis, the goddess of motherhood and childhood.

This temple is well known to tourists as the Small Isis Temple.

 It is a Coptic word means punishment. So it was called the Monastery of Punishment. This temple history dates back to the Roman era.

This temple consists of three rooms on the sea side; two rooms and a staircase on the south side; and the Holy of Holies in the middle.  This temple is distinguished by its inscription. One of the most important features of this temple is this inscription showing Anubis, the god of mummification in the ancient Egyptians, wearing the double crown that represents Upper and Lower Egypt. This is the only inscription in the Egyptian temples that shows Anubis wearing the double crown.
